3 Cocktail Recipes Inspired by Nominees of The 2023 Grammys

Award season is here, and there is no better way to enjoy the 65th Annual Grammy Awards than by accompanying the big show with a bespoke cocktail inspired by the 2023 nominees on February 5th.  The 2023 Grammy Awards will be hosted by Trevor Noah at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and has an all-star lineup of nominees like Beyonce, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, and Harry Styles. Keep reading to learn how to make the perfect watch party cocktails inspired by some of our favorite nominees.

 

Margaritas

Måneskin-ny Margaritas (skinny margarita recipe inspired by Måneskin)

Italian rock band Måneskin came on the scene in 2016 and have taken the music world by storm, with this year being their first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and over 40 million copies sold worldwide, as well as 6 diamond, 133 platinum, and 34 gold certifications. Made up of Damiano David (vocalist) Victoria De Angelis (bassist), Thomas Raggi (guitarist), and Ethan Torchio (drummer). With a nod to their Italian heritage, try this take on a Skinny Margarita

Ingredients: 

  • 1.5 oz Altos Tequila 
  • ½ lime 
  • ½ cup Italian soda of your choice 
  • 1/3 cup club soda or sparkling water 

How to make: 

  • Pour tequila over ice in mixing glass. Squeeze in the juice from ½ lime. Top with Italian soda and club soda. 
  • Enjoy!
  • Some favorite Italian sodas to use- grapefruit, mango, raspberry, and lemon-lime.

Sangria

About Damn Wine Blueberry Sangria (blueberry sangria inspired by Lizzo)

Lizzo has been nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance for “About Damn Time” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Special”. As one of the leading Grammy nominees, Lizzo has already won three Grammy awards in the past.  Lizzo, who is vegan, went viral on TikTok with a bowl of “Natures Cereal” made up of blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate, and coconut water. With a love of blueberries, sip on this delicious Lizzo-inspired blueberry sangria while watching the 2023 Grammys. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 750 mL Barefoot rose wine
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • ½ cup blackberries
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 12 ounces lemon-lime soda

How to make: 

  • Mix wine, all fruits and sugar in a pitcher. 
  • Chill for at least one hour. 
  • Pour over ice with lemon lime soda. 
  • Enjoy! 

 

Mocktail

Not-So Bad Habit (spirit-free grapefruit mocktail inspired by Steve Lacy)

24-year-old musician, songwriter, producer and style icon Steve Lacy is nominated for four 2023 Grammy Awards; Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Progressive R & B Album. No stranger to the Grammy Awards, Lacy was also nominated in 2016 and 2022. Sip on this refreshing, non-alcoholic libation for an alcohol-free evening. 

Ingredients: 

  • 4 oz Bubbly Grapefruit Sparkling Water 
  • 6 oz  Grapefruit Juice
  • Lime wedge 
  • Lemon wedge 
  • Garnish (rosemary, thyme, grapefruit)

How to make:

  • Place Grapefruit Juice in glass with ice.
  • Squeeze in lime and lemon wedge. 
  • Top with Bubbly Grapefruit Sparkling Water 
  • Stir. 
  • Add garnish of your choice.
  • Enjoy.
